Training and Technical Assistance
We specialize in building the evaluation capacity of both individuals and organizations. Our staff have taught several courses through Duke University’s Continuing Studies program covering topics such as basic program evaluation and performance measurement. For over 10 years, we have provided technical assistance in formative and summative evaluation to projects funded by, and federal programs within, the U. S. Department of Education. This work has included partnering with grantees to develop or revise their logic models and evaluation plans, providing guidance on performance measurement, and developing evaluation resources such as:
Demonstrating Evidence Across the Project Cycle: Outlines the different types of evidence that can be used throughout the project cycle to, for example, support theories of action, choice of interventions, and provide formative feedback on how project activities are progressing.
Effectively Communicating Evaluation Findings: Helps grantees effectively communicate information about project progress and results to a variety of audiences.
Evaluating Special Education Programs Resource Toolkit: Provides an array of evaluation resources for OSEP grantees walking the reader through the process of planning and conducting an evaluation.
Evaluation During Disruptions: Course Corrections and Other Considerations: Offers guidance to evaluators and staff whose projects have been disrupted.
Guidelines for Working with Third-Party Evaluators: Provides ideas, tips, strategies, and suggestions grantees may find useful to make the most of an evaluation that incorporates a third-party evaluator.
Three-Part Webinar Series on Customer Survey Development: Discusses important aspects related to planning, designing, and conducting customer surveys as part of an evaluation.
Two-Part Webinar Series on Planning and Conducting Qualitative Interviews: Discusses the ins and outs of how to plan and conduct high-quality customer interviews as part of a rigorous evaluation.
